Van Hoven PC, Intellectual Property Lawyers
Seine supports the firm's intellectual property practice across patent prosecution, docketing, client reporting, and correspondence, and assists with the firm's day-to-day business operations.
He helps keep deadlines tracked and documents organized so attorneys can stay focused on substantive legal work. Whether in patent prosecution or litigation, this behind-the-scenes work directly affects the quality and reliability of what the firm delivers, since a missed deadline or a disorganized file can have serious consequences.
Before joining VHIP, Seine was an Operations Manager at Penguin AI, where he supported executive leadership on legal, operational, and IP matters, including drafting NDAs, advisory agreements, and offer letters, and coordinated with outside counsel on IP and immigration filings. He also managed financial operations, HR, and payroll systems, and led CRM workflows, lead generation, and competitive market analysis in support of go-to-market strategy. Earlier, as an Intellectual Property Paralegal at IP&T LLP, he reviewed, docketed, and filed hundreds of utility patent and PCT national stage applications through Patent Center, including IDS submissions, ADS filings, responses to office actions, notices of allowance, and issue fee payments.
Seine is fluent in Korean and has completed Stanford University coursework in machine learning and AI applications in healthcare. He previously worked as an EMT for two years and served as a staff writer for the Berkeley Political Review, and he is an alumnus of Kappa Alpha Pi, a pre-law fraternity. Having previously worked at a boutique IP firm, he was drawn to VHIP's focused practice area, close-knit team, and depth of work, along with the opportunity to work across both prosecution and litigation.
